Organization

The Center for Environmental Studies (PSLH) of Universitas Pendidikan Muhammadiyah Sorong is a unit that functions as a center for study, research, and community service in the field of environment as well as the implementation of programs oriented towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In carrying out its duties, PSLH has an organizational structure comprising the person in charge, the chairman, the secretary, the treasurer, and members who coordinate to realize the vision of a green campus and sustainable development.

The person in charge, namely the Rector of the University of Education Muhammadiyah Sorong, has the main task of setting policy direction, providing resource support, and supervising and evaluating all PSLH programs. The Rector also ensures that every activity carried out is in line with the university's vision and SDGs principles, especially those related to the environment and sustainability.

The Chairman of PSLH is responsible for leading, designing, and coordinating all study center activities across research, education, and community service. The Chairman also plays an active role in establishing partnerships with local governments, research institutions, NGOs, and environmental communities to strengthen the implementation of green programs, such as conservation, 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle)- based waste management, and renewable energy development.

The Secretary plays a role in managing PSLH's administration, documentation, and internal and external communication. He is in charge of compiling activity reports, archiving research results, and managing scientific publications and partnership reports with various parties. The Secretary also ensures that every activity is well recorded and documented to support institutional accountability.

The Treasurer has responsibility for financial management and the preparation of activity budgets. He ensured that each fund used was in accordance with the activity plan and transparency principles, especially in supporting research activities, training, and SDGs-based environmental campaigns.

PSLH members are lecturers and researchers who are active in research, innovation, and community service. They focus on strategic issues such as climate change, biodiversity conservation, water resource management, eco enzyme development, waste banks, and community-based environmental education. In addition, members also play a role in integrating SDGs values into the learning process and student activities, especially in goals 6 (Clean Water and Proper Sanitation), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Settlements), 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), 13 (Climate Change Management), 14 (Ocean Ecosystems), and 15 (Terrestrial Ecosystems).

With the synergy of all elements in the organizational structure, PSLH UNIMUDA Sorong is committed to becoming the driving force of a green campus and a center of excellence in research, education, and environmental innovation, supporting the achievement of sustainable development in the Southwest Papua region and Indonesia in general.
